Before rolling out their latest OS, Microsoft trumpeted that Vista was their most secure OS ever. It didn’t take long for hackers to find a dangerous hole. This one has to do with “.ani” files that are part of the cursor. The hole allows hackers to get into PCs and install spy/malware. It affects several of Microsoft’s operating systems including Vista and XP. It was such a dangerous hole that they released the patch a week earlier than the regularly scheduled update, but the curious part is MS knew about it December… why did they release an OS that was known to have such a dangerous security risk?
