With the lead up to the Olympic Games in China the Bejing Olympic Planning committee is ramping up it’s efforts regarding regarding language issues. Such things as signs and slogans, telephone language access, in-person interpreters and recommended translations are on the list of high priority issues. There’s even talk of banning “bad English”. One thing is for sure, China is making an big effort into language preparation for the Games. Hopefully there we won’t see embarrassing mistakes like I’ve previously reported:
