Is LinkedIn Taking Lessons From Facebook?

LinkedIn.com recently added a new feature to their business networking website that harks back to Facebook’s Pages (now called Public Profiles). The section is simply called “Companies” and is still in beta phase, and offers businesses the option to set up a company profile. Companies can enter information in the sections Basic Information, Locations, Financials. You can also upload a company logo and add the company blog. There is also an interesting feature Related Companies. Here you can add companies that fall under the following categories: Division, Subsidiary, Parent, Acquisition or Merger. So far it is LinkedIn Company Profiles are not as customizable or as robust as Facebook Public Profiles, but it appears they are taking lessons from today’s hottest Social Networking Site. It will be interesting to see what they have in store for the future.
