Tracking Pixel

  1. A tracking pixel (also called a marketing pixel or pixel tag) is an HTML or Javascript code snippet that is added to a website that loads an invisible image when someone visits a website or opens an email.
  2. Typically used to track website or email activity include the following:
    1. Operating system
    2. Device type
    3. The type of client (I.e. browser or mail client)
    4. Screen resolution
    5. Time viewed
    6. As well as other attributes
